Artist and Founder
Rachel Rushing is a Louisiana native living in Dallas, TX.
Her work focuses on materiality, infrastructure, and mediated environments. Rushing is currently working in historical photographic printing processes, video, projection, and non-traditional photographic installations to investigate the convergence between the natural world and human cognition. By building material photographs and immersive installations, she draws attention to traditional constructions of engagement and image-making to re-evaluate their effectiveness, necessity, and truth.
As an extension of her personal work Rushing is committed to community integration with the arts. She is the Arts Coordinator for Oak Cliff Earth Day and she produces the Art Funk podcast. She also works with Dallas area community groups to promote and foster artistic community throughout the North Texas region.
